The agency is responsible for ensuring that the individuals who perform personal care services on its behalf are competent to carry out all assigned tasks in the consumer’s place of residence.

(1) Prior to assignment, the agency manager or supervisor shall conduct a proof of competency evaluation of the tasks listed in subsection (D.1) of 6 CCR 1011-1, Chapter 26, Part 8, along with any other tasks that require specific hands-on application.

(1)  Bathing,

(2) Skin care,

(3) Hair care,

(4) Nail care,

(5) Mouth care,

(6) Shaving,

(7) Dressing,

(8) Feeding,

(9) Assistance with ambulation,

(10) Exercise and transfers,

(11) Positioning,

(12) Bladder and bowel care, and

(13) Medication reminding

(14) Adaptive Equipment – Performance of the ability to assist in the use of specific adaptive equipment if the worker(s) will be assisting consumers who use the device.  Evidence of training is required.
