Policy, Procedure & Personnel Part 2 (PPP 2): Operational Reliability and System Failures – 2 CEU

PPP 2 is a two-hour Colorado home care administrator/manager continuing-education course focused on what happens when agency systems fail in day-to-day operations. Building on the 2026 PPP I examination of personnel systems, PPP II moves from written requirements to operational performance: staffing methodology, scheduling, admission decisions, missed and incomplete visits, service reliability, supervision, documentation, Quality Management Program (QMP/QAPI) activity, and the Annual Organization Evaluation (AOE).

Participants learn to identify system breakdowns, investigate underlying causes, implement corrective actions, and use operational findings to strengthen the Quality Management Program and Annual Organization Evaluation. The course distinguishes operational failures as leading indicators from survey deficiencies as lagging indicators and shows administrators how to convert near misses, complaints, service disruptions, and audit findings into measurable improvement activity.

Using Colorado licensure requirements, survey deficiency themes, operational examples, case studies, Root Cause Analysis exercises, and practical monitoring tools, PPP II emphasizes a management approach that looks beneath the individual event to determine what system failed, what correction is required, who is responsible, how effectiveness will be measured, and what should ultimately be reported to leadership and the governing body.
